A Few Good Pics That Must See the Light of Day!

So... there was a "severe weather alert" this weekend.  And just wanted you all to know that... we are TOTALLY and COMPLETELY -- OKAY.  It was a little sprinkly and slightly breezy, and mostly sunny.  ?

So, what's the word on the street for Halloween this weekend?  Anybody having a costume party?  Courtney...?

You know, I've been meaning to post some of these pictures from the summertime -- because they are just so good!  So, I will post them here.  Because.... they are just cuteness maximus:

and...

We are going to beddy bye for now -- but hope to hear from y'all soon!

Where to Begin?

One, I don't think I have seen the Tuckers since your wedding. I was glad to see them in the ongoing wedding celebration party photo because I was starting to be concerned that they were just a figment of my imagination, along with Michal and Paul! Inhaling all the house construction dust and debris starts to addle the brain over time, you know.

Two, the house is being stuccoed even
as I write! How exciting!!! It was a spontaneous decision, instigated by the fact that Chris and Colleen are getting their house done at the same time, by the same company. There was a serious meeting between the DeSilvis-Campbell and the Clancy-McCormick contingents to discuss colors. After much negotiation (and confusion as depending on location of the sun they all looked exactly the same), we all decided that they get the dark gray, and we get the light.

Three, I am tiling the second floor bathroom. I believe I started this before you left, which means I am moving at a rate of approximately 3/4 of a subway tile a day. It is a new record, and professional tilers have been harassing me for tips on how to prolong their jobs. However, your potential visit in November has lit a "get this finished!" fire within me, so I'm going to up my rate to roughly 10 tiles day in order to complete the job.
Four, I visited my sister in Nicaragua a few weeks ago, and arrived to discover that her freshly adopted Nicaraguan street dog had been hit by a car and was limping horribly. Using my Talula expertise, I assessed the situation and said "Perro medico - inmediatamente!" So to the vet we went, where the poor dog's leg was diagnosed as shattered in about 200 places. He suggested putting her to sleep. I took a deep breath and demanded "Quite la pierna!" (remove the leg), whereupon my three small blonde spanish speaking nieces looked at me in horror and burst into tears. Even the vet was taken aback. However, apparently the dog was returned to them much happier: its tail wags so fiercely that it falls down (it's still learning balance).

(In the background, you'll see the vet, trying to get away from us. As an aside, I marched into his office waving xrays and babbling something about how I couldn't really speak spanish (in terrible spanish) and he looked at me, smiled, and calmly said, "No problem - I speak English. I got my degree from the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor.")

That's all for now! xo

Does the Party Ever End?

Well friends, it seems that our wedding celebration, almost three months to the day, is finally coming to an end. Here's a shot of our Seattle party in September, which the Tuckers so graciously attended:

They said they were going to give us their air miles as a fifteenth wedding gift, but apparently the transfer agreement has gotten lost in the mail...

Anyway, we were hoping to stretch this thing out until 2011, maybe extend the tax benefits into the next year, too, but a little celebration fatigue among our loved ones is entirely understandable. So, tonight is the last of our reception/parties, this time in Burlington, WA, for all the family and friends from the Skagit Valley area who couldn't make it to Philly for the July hitchin'. I think there is still room at table 14, so if you hop on a plane right now--I mean RIGHT NOW--you could still make it. Great Aunt Millie is waiting to tell you about her 37 cats and hasn't changed the battery in her hearing aid for 10 years, but she's really such a dear. A little smelly, but a dear. And God, what a pineapple upside down cake...

Seriously though, Patsy has done a marvelous job planning the party and decorating the hall, and it should be great fun.

We just wish all y'all Philthadelphians were here to join us. To bring that special kind of cheesesteak love you just don't find anywhere else. Wit whiz.

Much love from the three-six-oh!

Update on the Boob's butt

So, you may all remember that after the Boob's big surgery last winter, her butt hair grew in black!

We thought this would be permanent, but just this month.... we noticed, that things are getting a little salt and pepperish in the Boob's trunk:

Sort of exciting.  The white may be making a comeback!

The old Boob has been missing her Darien Street perch immensely.  But, we just started cracking open the window in our kitchen, and now...... she's found a new perch!

xox!
