12 Days Till Turkey

Wonderful friends, adorable dogs & brilliant cats....

I am missing you all and writing you from sunny Chicago!

So close, yet so far away...

I am on the eve of our plane ride back home to the northwest, and feeling a little bittersweet about heading west instead of east.

Auntie Mary and I are here in the windy city because we went to my Auntie Jacqueline's 50th birthday last night, which was really fun!

We've been eating - somewhat nonstop - since we arrived here.  Friday night was at a delicious and wild place called "Sunda" which completely knocked our socks off!  Sort of a combination between Momofuku and that awesome sushi place on South St. that we all know and love.

And then today, the food continued as we ate our way through bloody marys and omlettes for breakfast, followed by a mound of deep dish pizza for dinner! In between these meals we headed to the contemporary art museum and the art institute of chitown to walk off our food babies.  Both - amazing!

It's been a great weekend to be here.

So a quick report on Halloween....

The Dunn household was visited by some superfun trick or treaters... and we liked them so much that we took them to our favorite restaurant in the 'ham - a place we like to call The Pepper Sisters!

We left T at home to deal with the rest of the trick or treaters, but all she wanted to do was watch the printer, in case some paper was sent through the inkjet while we were gone, stuffing our faces with green chiles and tortillas!

We are getting very excited for the next few holidays out here, and just hope T likes the reindeer costume we got for her.  There may be some sedation involved... if ya know what I mean.  And I think you do!

We miss you all like crazy!!

  1. Oooh! I wish those trick or treaters came to visit US! I'm glad you took them out hamming, but I certainly hope you then returned home and played Settlers the rest of the weekend in your jammies...
